The holiday of Hanukkah celebrates the miracle of oil, the rededication of the Temple, and the shining of light in the darkness.
Hanukkah in 2024 begins on Wednesday night, December 25th, and continues through Thursday, January 2nd.
Hanukkah begins on the evening of the 25th of Kislev and lasts for eight days and eight nights. The central mitzvah of the holiday is the lighting of the menorah at home and in the synagogue.
