Guiding Questions: Psalms 105

This is part of the Tanakh Yomi Project.

  1. While Psalms 105:1-3 speak of “praising God”, what will be the result for those who so do? (Psalms 105:3)
  2. Who are the “servants” and the “chosen” according to Psalms 105:6?
  3. In referring to the Covenant (Psalms 105:7-11) what aspect of the Covenant, in particular, is stressed?
  4. Do Psalms 105:12-15 refer to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob?
  5. What story in Genesis is reflected in Psalms 105:16-23?
  6. How do Psalms 105:24-37 reflect the Haggadah narration and, as well, the early chapters of Exodus?
  7. In the closing portion (Psalms 105:39-45) reference is made to a number of events in the wilderness, following the Exodus from Egypt but one significant (most significant) event is omitted — Sinai. Why might this be?
